A public statement of principles

Human + AI
Manifesto

AI should help people grow,
create, and live better.

People bring purpose, judgment, and care.
These are the principles I want to guide our work with AI.

The belief

We can do valuable
work together.

AI gives us new ways to explore ideas, build tools, and solve problems. What we choose to do with that ability matters.

I want us to begin with a human question: what could we make better, and for whom?

That means being curious about what AI can do, honest about what it cannot, and responsible for the choices we make.

Five commitments

What guides the work.

  1. Start with people.

Begin with the people affected and the outcome they need. Ask what should get better in their work or their lives. Give them a voice in the changes that follow.

  2. Keep responsibility human.

AI can support a decision. People remain responsible for the decision and its consequences. Keep human judgment close, especially when the stakes are high.

  3. Learn through practice.

Build something useful. Test it on real work. Notice where it helps and where it fails. Share what you learn, and give people time to develop their own skills.

  4. Make room for questions.

Questions about reliability, privacy, bias, and risk are part of responsible progress. Be honest about limits. Check the work. Know when to pause or ask for help.

  5. Measure what gets better.

Look at the quality of the work and what changes for people. Time saved matters when it creates room for better decisions, meaningful work, learning, and life.

From principles to practice

Make it part
of everyday work.

At AI Operator, we help founders, investment teams, and portfolio companies build the skills and habits to work with AI.

The ADOPT Method™ brings that work into a practical sequence: Align, Develop, Operationalize, Practice, and Transform. Teams bring real workflows, build useful tools, and keep learning through practice.

That is one application of these principles. The wider mission, AI for Better Lives, extends to learning, health, and the places we live.
